Comprehensive Planning Department
Sets Open House Dates

Hometown Tribute to Chet Atkins
This fall, the Department of Comprehensive Planning will host three land use plan update open house meetings. At the open house events, county planners will explain how the update process works and how the information gathered at open houses will be worked into the updated master plan.

Afterwards, the recommendations will be forwarded to the Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee, Town Advisory Boards, Planning Commission and County Commission.

These updates follow Spring Valley, Enterprise and Sunrise Manor land use plan updates, which were recently adopted. In 2003, the County Commission adopted a new ordinance to make master plans more reliable. The entire update process takes about 12 months. Over the next five years, most of the county’s unincorporated master plans will undergo updates. Citizen participation is considered a crucial link in the process.

To get more information about the update process, visit  Comprehensive Planning’s website at www.accessclarkcounty.comThe department has a map posted online showing the county’s 11 land use areas and a tentative schedule showing a timetable for updates. To contact the planners working on this update, call (702) 455-4314.
