  • Mixed Use: Amend land-use rules for mixed-use developments. New rules would encourage more efficient land use, locate jobs near housing and encourage mass-transit development.

  • Mass Transit: Expand mass transportation system to include rapid transit and light rail options in conjunction with transit-oriented development.

  • HousingInfill development: Establish a special permitting and licensing team to handle infill and redevelopment projects; allow more development flexibility for projects that are mass-transit oriented.

  • Redevelopment: Establish priorities for the county's Redevelopment Agency to include identification of prime areas for infill and redevelopment. Allow special handling for projects that establish attainable/affordable housing, energy conservation and self-sustaining rehabilitation.

  • Affordable Housing: Pre-package affordable housing deals through land acquisition, planning and special handling.
