New
Commissioner Holds First of Many Breakfast Chats
Residents of Moapa,
Overton and Logandale recently met with their new Clark
County commissioner, Tom Collins, to discuss issues of
concern.
Collins chose
the informal setting of Calamaties Market N More in
Moapa to meet with residents over breakfast.
Topics
included everything from growth and zone changes to
street improvements.
The dialogue was so spirited that the
Commissioner stayed beyond the two hours originally
allocated for the event.
“This was a
great opportunity for me to meet with my rural
constituents and find out how we could work together to
improve their quality of life,” Collins said. “We
had a great turnout and some candid conversations about
what the county could do for the residents.”
Collins said
that he would be scheduling more informal meetings with
constituents throughout District B, which includes much
of the north and northeast part of the Las Vegas Valley
and Moapa, Glendale, Logandale, Overton, Hidden Valley
and Mesquite north of I-15 and Mesquite Boulevard.
He suggested
that anyone wishing to be alerted to future meetings
should contact his office at (702) 455-3500 or by email
at ccdistb@co.clark.nv.us.
