Construction
of the Bunkerville/Windmill Wash Outfall was recently
completed. The Clark County Public Work’s project is
located in Bunkerville from the Windmill Wash Detention
Basin Outflow on Riverside Road to the Virgin River.
Some
of the project features include trench excavation,
grading, reinforced concrete and spiral rib pipes, pipe
inlet/outlet elements, concrete box structures,
retaining walls, erosion control and an irrigation
overflow structure. The outfall now better diverts
stormwater away from private property in Bunkerville and
into the Virgin River. Also, the system will pick up
excess water from irrigation and convey it to the river.
Project partners include the Clark County Regional Flood
Control District, Longview Construction and Development,
Landmark Material Testing, Bunkerville Irrigation
Company, and Aztec Material Testing. The project was
funded, in part, by the Regional Flood Control District
and is part of the District’s Master Plan. Clark
County also supplied funding.

“Since
part of the project was constructed near homes, we truly
appreciate the patience and cooperation of the
residents,” said Commissioner Bruce Woodbury.
