The
Clark County Water Reclamation District (District) is
adding additional manholes on Nellis Boulevard as part
of the major sewer pipeline rehabilitation project
taking place in the area.
“The
installation of new manholes will begin at the
intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Flamingo Road and
will continue to Twain Avenue,” said Sam Scire,
assistant general manager for the District. “The
installation of the new manholes will make future
pipeline rehabilitation much easier as crews will have
better access to pipeline under the street.”
The
District wants to inform drivers of the following
traffic impacts, which will be in place through at least
December 2007:
- Expect
one northbound lane and one southbound lane of
Mountain Vista Street to be closed from Desert Inn
Road to Twain Avenue.
- Expect
one northbound lane and one southbound lane of
Mountain Vista Street to be closed from Flamingo
Road to Twain Avenue.
- Expect
one northbound lane of Boulder Highway to be closed
from Indios Avenue to Twain Avenue.
- Expect
reduced lane widths on East Desert Inn Road from
Cabana Drive to Theme Road.
While
work is taking place, drivers should take precautions
and allow extra time when traveling though the impacted
areas. For more information and traffic updates, drivers
can call the project hotline at 853-1333, or visit www.cleanwaterteam.com.
