Development Services announces the promotion of Gregory Franklin to the newly created position of assistant director of the Building Division.  Franklin will assume responsibility for the Building Division’s plans examination, field inspections and engineering sections in this new role.  He joined Development Services as a building inspector 22 years ago and has been supervisor of inspectors, chief of inspections, and most recently, manager of inspections.  Franklin is a certified building official and is credited with creating EduCode, the premiere educational offering in the western United States for those in the building field.

Ron Lynn previously oversaw the Building Division under the title of building official for Clark County until he was promoted to director of Development Services in July.  Since Lynn will maintain the title of building official of Clark County in addition to director of Development Services, an assistant director position was created to oversee the Building Division.

Development Services is a department of 515 employees and consists of three divisions:  Administration, Civil Engineering and Building.  Dean Friedli is the assistant director of Administration and Robert Thompson is the assistant director of Civil Engineering.
