Delivered Donation to Child Haven
Organizers of “Seats &
Feets,” an annual event to collect new socks and
underwear for children from disadvantaged circumstances
delivered more than 15,000 pairs of socks & underwear to
Child Haven on Wednesday, October 10. This charitable
event was started three years ago by Mended Hearts, a
Focus Property Group/LandTek Community 911 team.
The success of this
year’s event can be credited to Focus Property Group,
LandTek, the 2008 Clark County Leadership Forum, Galaxy
Theaters at the Cannery, Applebee’s, North Las Vegas
Department of Public Works, Clark County Fire
Department, and numerous other Clark County departments
that all joined forces to collect the much needed socks
and underwear, as well as more than $1,500 in cash
donations.
Hundreds of Clark
County children each year will be temporarily removed
from their homes while their families work on issues
affecting their children’s safety. There is an on-going
need for a supply of new underwear and socks, as these
children often come to Child Haven and other county
shelters, including foster homes, with little more than
the clothes on their backs.
