On April 9, Clark County Public Works and project partners celebrated the completion of the northbound on and off ramps for the Silverado Ranch Boulevard to I-15 Interchange. The event was commemorated with a ribbon cutting and lunch reception hosted by project partner South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. The motoring public is strongly encouraged to drive safely as they use the newly opened ramps and as the remainder of the interchange is being completed.

The ramp construction included full roadway and drainage improvements along Silverado and a traffic signal at the entrance of the South Point. With the opening of the ramps, Silverado Ranch Boulevard now connects from Eastern Avenue to I-15. The Silverado to I-15 Interchange is approximately 60% complete. When construction on the interchange is finished, Silverado Ranch Boulevard will provide 6 travel lanes (3 in each direction) and will continue west to Dean Martin Drive. The project began during September 2006 and Public Works anticipates the entire interchange to be completed during October 2007. The estimated construction cost for the entire interchange is approximately $37 million.

“The northbound on and off ramps are an important part of the work to construct a full interchange for this location,” stated Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury, who represents Commission District A, one of the sites for the project. Woodbury continued, “Once the interchange is completed, residents, visitors and workers will have enhanced mobility in the area and less congestion on local roadways.”

Project partners for this venture include the following: Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Nevada Department of Transportation, Clark County Regional Flood Control District, South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, PBS & J, Frehner Construction, Parsons Transportation Group, Horizons Surveys, United Rentals, Acme Electric, Clark County Water Reclamation District, Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority, Nevada Power Company, Southwest Gas Company, and Bureau of Land Management.
