‘Red,
White and Splash’ to Offer Free Swimming, Activities
The
community is invited to celebrate “Red, White and
Splash” for the Fourth of July at Clark County neighborhood pools and water parks.
Red,
White and Splash, which replaces the annual “Red,
White and Boom” fireworks show and concert event at Desert
Breeze Park, will feature free swimming activities and light
refreshments at select pools. All pools except Von Tobel
are open for free swimming from noon
to 4 p.m., though Desert Breeze pool will be open from noon
to 5 p.m.
“The
Parks and Recreation Department is going back to the
neighborhoods to celebrate the Fourth of July in an
old-fashioned community gathering at individual pool
sites across the county,” said Jane Pike, acting
director for the department. “These are events that
can be enjoyed by families, friends and neighbors at no
cost.”
The
department hopes to introduce its public pools to a new
audience of residents who may not have visited one
before. The newer water parks feature a number of slides
and other amenities that make visiting a pool an
exciting experience.
Thirteen
Clark County water parks and pools will be open on July 4 free of
charge. Those are Cambridge Water Park, 3930 Cambridge
St.; Desert Breeze Water Park, 8275 W. Spring Mountain
Road; Desert Inn Pool, 3570 Vista Del Monte Dr.;
Paradise Water Park, 4770 Harrison Dr.; Parkdale Water
Park, 3200 Ferndale St.; Sunrise Pool, 2240 Linn Lane;

Vegas Blvd.; Whitney Pool, 5700 E. Missouri St., off
