Beginning January 6, the
Department of Development Services’ Building Division
will begin offering inspections on Saturdays for certain
types of residential projects between the hours of
7 a.m.
and
3:30 p.m.
The
inclusion of Saturday inspections specifically benefits
homeowners who must be present for the inspection, but
work during the Building Division’s regular Monday
through Friday inspection hours.
The construction
scope for which inspections may be scheduled on
Saturdays includes the following:
The
first Saturday for which inspections may be scheduled is
January 6.
Although
specific appointment times cannot be set, inspections
can be scheduled by calling the Development Services’
Building
Division
Permit
Application
Center
at 455-3000. Press “1” for inspections,
followed by “0” to speak with an operator. Please
note that Saturday inspection requests can only be
scheduled through an operator, as the service is not
available through the telephone or online (Internet)
scheduling services.
At
the time of the inspection request, the homeowner must
provide a telephone number he or she can be reached at
on the day of the inspection. Also, inspections
must be requested by
3 p.m.
on the Friday before the date of the desired Saturday
inspection.
To
facilitate the inspection process, Development
Services’ Building Division advises the homeowner to
ensure the construction permit, job card and approved
plans are on the job site. Saturday inspections
are available only within the
Las Vegas
Valley
.
