The Cora Coleman Senior Center officially opened its
new indoor aquatics facility and dance room on Wednesday,
March 14. The dedication ceremony was
hosted by Commissioner Tom Collins, who represents the
area.

The facility is located at 2100 Bonnie Lane, just
north of East Lake Mead Boulevard.
“The new pool and dance room will give area senior
residents over age 50 a chance to exercise and
socialize, two sure ways to stay healthy. We are happy
to provide these new amenities in one of the older areas
of the community where the need is long-standing,”
said Collins.

The
three-lane heated pool will feature swim lessons and
exercise classes six days a week for adults age 50 and
over. Classes include arthritis exercise class, aqua
yoga, low- and high-endurance water exercise, water
volleyball and water walking. Open swim and lap hours
are also scheduled.
The
10,500-square-foot addition was designed by Domingo
Cambeiro Corporation and built by Richardson
Construction.
