Clark
County
is offering a great
mix of concerts, festivals and plays in the Government
Center Amphitheater, some ticketed and some free, during
September and October.
The
11th annual Moonlight Concert Series continues Sept. 16
and 30. Doors open at
6:30 p.m.
with the shows
beginning at
8 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in
advance, $15 at the gate, children under 12 admitted
free.
Ivan
Neville and Dumpstaphunk will hit the stage on Sept. 9.
Neville began performing with his father, Aaron Neville,
and his uncles Art, Charles and Cyril in the Neville
Brothers band when he was still in his teens. After
performing with Keith Richards & the Xpensive Winos,
Rufus and the Spin Doctors, as well as Bonnie Raitt’s
band, Ivan Neville launched his solo career with
1988’s "If My Ancestors Could See Me Now." Most recent
releases include "Saturday Morning Music" in 2002 and
"Scrape" in 2003.
Teddy
Geiger will perform Sept. 30, but he won’t be able to
gamble. In March at age 17, Geiger released his debut
album "Underage Thinking" and saw it rise to no. 8 on
Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. Geiger, a New York-native
and self-taught musician, plays guitar, piano, bass and
drums and co-wrote 11 of the 12 songs on his pop-rock
debut.
Blankets and low-back chairs are welcome, but pets and
outside food and beverage are not permitted in the
ticketed concerts. Food and drinks are available on site
for purchase. Tickets to the Moonlight Concerts are at
any Ticketmaster outlet or by phone at 474-4000.

artist Yo Fukui, whose exhibit of whimsical ceramic
sculptures has been on display during August.

2 and 3 is the Aloha Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
each day, with music
and food of the islands.

County
residents can see an
excellent theater company from
Los Angeles
