for 10th Annual Event Now
The
10th annual hazardous materials conference dubbed HazMat
Explo 10 will be held Nov. 13-16 at the Orleans Hotel
& Casino at
4500 W. Tropicana Avenue
in
Las Vegas
.
The
conference is open to the public, but emergency
personnel are especially encouraged to attend to learn
the most up-to-date strategies for dealing with
hazardous material issues.
The
conference registration fee is $150. After Oct. 16 the
registration fee will be $200. Registration is available
through the conference Web site at www.hazmatexplo.org.
Trained
hazardous materials professionals and industry experts
will be on hand to provide real-world insights from
several perspectives including environmental, first
responder, emergency planning, industrial, radiological
and medical.
Special
features this year include programs on disease
outbreaks, suicide bombings, chemical, biological and
nuclear terror threats, and lessons from Hurricane
Katrina. The keynote speaker will be Jon Sewell who
experienced Katrina first hand as CEO of the
Chalmette
Medical
Center
in
Louisiana
. Sewell’s address will begin
8 a.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 14.
