Clark County officials urge citizens to consider joining one of two advisory panels that help shape quality of life in Southern Nevada.

The county is now taking applications to fill a vacancy on 10 Town Advisory Boards (TABs) and six Citizen Advisory Councils (CACs).

The Town Boards and Citizen Advisory Councils hold public meetings at least once per month.  Applicants must be eligible to vote and live within the town boundaries.

Functions of the TAB include hearing matters about the town such as long-range planning and land use, zoning, public works projects and new ordinances.

The board also provides input to the County Commission, forwards concerns and problems of the residents for resolution to county staff, and disseminates information of interest that it receives from the county to town residents.

Applications for the 2007-2008 term – which runs from January 1, 2007, through Dec. 31, 2008 – will be accepted until November 17, 2006. They may be downloaded from the county website at www.accessclarkcounty.com and may be sought by calling the county’s Administrative Services Department at 455-3530.

The towns in unincorporated Clark County are Bunkerville, Enterprise, Indian Springs,  Mt. Charleston, Paradise, Searchlight, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor, Whitney and Winchester.

The advisory councils in unincorporated Clark County are Goodsprings, Lone Mountain, Lower Kyle Canyon, Mountain Springs, Red Rock and Sandy Valley.
