The Clark County Museum, 1830 South Boulder Highway
in Henderson, presents its 17th Invitational Native
American Arts Festival from 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. March
31-April 2. The festival highlights the history and
artistry of Native American cultures, and includes:
Native American artist demonstrations, a Native American
Craft Market featuring more than 50 invited artists,
dance and music performances, storytelling, Native
American foods, a children’s "Make-and-Take"
art area, and a special section of the traveling exhibit
"Woven Words." Festival admission is $3 for
adults and $2 for seniors and children.
The Festival provides a unique opportunity to learn
about Native American art, buy directly from Native
American artists, and to discuss their art with them.
This year more than 50 invited artists will be selling
their work, including pottery, sculpture, silver and
turquoise and heishe jewelry, weaving, easel art,
sandpaintings, wood art, stone carvings, decorated gourd
containers, kachina dolls, rattles, fetishes, drums,
basketry, dreamcatchers, buckskin, and beadwork.

Festival artists have made and donated all the items
for this year’s "Chance Drawings" sponsored
by the Clark County Museum Guild. Visitors may purchase
tickets at the festival for the drawing held Sunday
afternoon. Winners need not be present at the drawing,
and proceeds will enhance next year’s festival.
Indian tacos and fry bread will be among the Native
American foods cooked on the spot for visitors to
purchase. Each food vendor will also be serving a
special item, such as buffalo stew and green chili stew,
so visitors are encouraged to look for special menu
items at each food booth. Visitors may choose to eat on
the performance area lawn or at tables in the dining
tent.
The Clark County Museum is a function of the Clark
County Department of Parks & Recreation. Visitors
are invited to shop the Museum Store’s special
selection of Native American Art and Nevada history
items while visiting this year’s Native American
Festival. For more information on the Museum and its
