Internet Signups Start Dec. 9 For Classes Starting Jan. 8

Clark County Parks and Recreation will offer a new service with online registration starting Dec. 9 for classes beginning Jan. 8. Credit cards are also now accepted for walk-in registration, which starts Dec. 18. Online registration is available at www.accessclarkcounty.com/parks.  Only Visa and Master Card are accepted, either online or in person.

“Our patrons will now be able to save time and save gas by registering over the Internet from the comfort of their homes,” says County Commission Chairman Rory Reid. “This is a service that the county feels is important to make our programs more accessible to the public.”

Not all classes and activities are available for Internet signups. Patrons must sign up in person for RecTrek, the program for school age children on school breaks. However, they can pay with a credit card.

Class offerings at the 13 urban community and senior centers throughout the valley include a wide range of choices in fitness, personal development, arts, sports and leisure activity categories. There are programs for all ages and interests, such as pre-school-level arts and crafts, Tai Chi, computer and Spanish language classes. Some centers offer amenities such as fitness rooms, dance studios and computer labs.

Clark County urban centers are located throughout the valley. Urban recreation and senior centers which offer classes and workshops include Cambridge Recreation Center on Cambridge near East Flamingo Road; Cora Coleman Senior Center on Lake Mead Boulevard and Bonnie Lane; Desert Breeze Park & Center on Spring Mountain Road and Durango Drive; Helen Meyer Center near Flamingo Road and Tenaya Way; Hollywood Center on Hollywood Boulevard and Sahara Avenue; Mountain Crest at Durango Drive and Red Coach Avenue; Paradise Center, at McLeod Drive and Tropicana Avenue; Parkdale Center near Desert Inn Road and Boulder Highway; Sunrise Center near Christy Lane and Lake Mead; Walnut Center on Walnut Road and Cheyenne Avenue; West Flamingo Active Adult Center on West Flamingo Road and Jones Boulevard;  Whitney Center and Senior Center near East Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway, and Winchester Cultural Center on McLeod Drive, north of Desert Inn Road.
