On November 6, Clark County Public Works completed
roadway construction on Hacienda between Arville Street
and Valley View Boulevard and opened the road to
traffic. The new roadway provides another link from the
Resort Corridor to residences and businesses all the way
west to Durango Drive. The cost for the project was
approximately $11 million dollars.
Project construction began on August 1, 2005. Four
lanes are provided, two in each direction. The roadway
is separated from the Union Pacific Railroad track by a
bridge. Traffic signals were installed at Arville and
Hacienda as a safety feature and to regulate traffic for
better flow. The motoring public is advised to exercise
caution as they become accustomed to the new roadway and
traffic control devices.

“Whether
you work on the Las Vegas Strip or you’re visiting
with family and friends, this connector will provide a
very convenient way for drivers to gain access to and
from the Strip,” said Commissioner Rory Reid who
represents District G, the site of the project.
“We’re
very grateful for the cooperation of our project
partners and the patience of the businesses located
along this part of Hacienda as we developed the
roadway,” said Clark County Public Works Director
Denis Cederburg.

Clark
County Public Works strongly encourages motorists to
drive safely at all times. Over one-half of all
traffic accidents can be avoided if drivers pay better
attention to the road and obey traffic control devices.
