It was a Killer
Season for Clark County. . .
Just follow the
evidence through "CSI: Crime Scene
Investigation" the CBS television show. The season
finale filmed here and was directed by the famous
Quentin Terrentino--Clark County provided the perfect
backdrop for the whodunit episode. One of the most
popular television shows, "American Idol",
continues to make Clark County one of their premiere
locations. The latest sure-to-be blockbuster "Rocky
Balboa" wrapped filming at the Mandalay Bay in
December 2005. This year film projects were plentiful
from television commercials, music videos, feature films
and independent projects.

The Nevada Film Office (NFO)
announced that filming revenues for calendar year 2005
reached approximately $102.5 million, which continues a
six-year trend for Nevada of exceeding the $100 million
mark. Of this total, Unincorporated Clark County
manages, issues and processes more than 50% of all film
projects for the entire state.

County projects don’t end with
film events, Business License also licensed and
participated in numerous large-scale events such as
Clark County’s world class marathon; The New Las Vegas
Marathon, Vegoose, the Red Hot Chili Peppers helping to
celebrate Centennial festivities, and a myriad of
rodeos, carnivals, concerts, and other special events
just to name a few. Business License envisions a
continued presence and involvement in these types of
venues.

The Clark County Department of
Business License provides film permit services and
solutions to the varied challenges and questions that
arise when filming in Clark County. While the department
provides services to the entertainment industry, we work
hard to coordinate the needs and concerns of the
agencies and organizations associated with the film
permit process and to consider the safety and
convenience of our visitors and residents alike.
