LAS VEGAS - CLARK COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT
QUESTION

Shall the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District be authorized to:

(A) Issue up to $50,605,000 of general obligation bonds in one or more series for library purposes (including, without limitation, acquiring, constructing, equipping and improving library facilities)? Each series of Bonds is expected to require a property tax levy for 20 years. The Bonds are estimated to result in a total

increase in the property taxes that the owner of a new $100,000 home will pay which will average $2.38 per year; and

(B) Levy an additional property tax rate for library purposes (including, without limitation, operating, maintaining, acquiring, constructing, equipping and improving library facilities) of up to 2.1 cents per $100 of assessed valuation for a period of 30 years commencing July 1, 2003? The cost of the 2.1 cent property tax

levy for the owner of a new $100,000 home is estimated to be $7.35 per year.
