Who may submit a Request for a Presentation?
Companies with energy related products and/or services, such as energy efficiency, conservation, management, or distributive generation may submit a Request for a Presentation.
Please Note: Incomplete or duplicate Requests For a Presentation will be deleted.
Meetings
Presentations
Presentations will be limited to 30 minutes. Handouts of the presentations are encouraged.
Please Note: The Company may offer a self-contained media presentation; however, the presenter will be responsible for all required support. Furthermore, the equipment setup / takedown MUST be accomplished within the 30-minute timeframe.
Although we understand that you are trying to sell your product or service, it is important for the Company to understand that the staff attending the presentation will not be making any purchasing decisions at that time. Therefore we request that your presentation be educational in nature.
Product Testing
Clark County reserves the right to test products prior to making a final recommendation. Clark County does not wish to invalidate any existing manufacturer’s warranties and therefore, any additive, product, equipment, or retrofit must not invalidate the existing manufacturer’s warranty(ies). In such cases, the vendor / manufacturer must be willing to adhere to the following conditions:
1) Provide the length of time this product has been on the market;
2) Provide the names of other government agencies that have used, or are currently using, this product;
3) Post a bond in the amount of the cost of the equipment to be tested in case the County’s equipment is damaged and must be repaired or replaced due to the energy efficiency product used and/or installed by the vendor / manufacturer.
Clark County reserves the right to waive the bond in cases where the County determines, in advance, that the equipment or product will not invalidate manufacturer’s warranty or in other cases where the County deems such waiver to be appropriate.

Pamphlets / Brochures
Several companies have asked if they can submit additional information such as a pamphlet or brochure. Yes. You may submit 1 copy which will remain part of the file created for your application. Pamphlets / brochures may dropped off at the Government Center, (500 S Grand Central Pkwy), 4th floor reception area. Please let the receptionist know that the information is back up information and it is to be forwarded to the Energy Management staff.
Follow-up Information
Once your Company's Request For a Presentation has been submitted, the Energy Management staff will review the request and submit it to the departments for their consideration. A minimum of 5 staff members must respond that they are interested in hearing the presentation before a presentation will be scheduled. If at least 5 staff members have expressed an interest in attending the presentation, the Company's listed contact will be notified accordingly and a presentation scheduled for the next available 30-minute slot.
Information Remains On File
Once your Company's information has been submitted, it will remain on file. Your application and any other supporting documentation will remain as part of our Energy Technology Library whether a presentation takes place or not.
What Happens After the Presentation
Clark County's agreement to view a presentation does not indicate any form of endorsement, nor agreement to purchase a particular product/equipment or enter into a contract for a particular service. Staff is attending the presentation to learn about the product and/or service. If the staff is interested in the product or service, then they may make a recommendation to their individual department head. However, depending on the product / service and the cost, the County's budget process and State Purchasing Law will dictate the next course of action. For instance if there is more than 1 vendor selling the same product, then the County must go out bid. If the product or equipment is X-amount of dollars, then it must be requested as part of next year's budget process. And, if the product / service is requested as part of the budget process, there is no indication that it will be funded. Or, in the case where the product or equipment will be install in a building, it may be determined that the product / equipment will be added as part of a building retrofit in a future year. Unfortunately, even if staff is interested in your company's product or service, it may take some time to acquire the product or service.
On behalf of Clark County, thank you for your interest!!
