About Qualified Materials

Qualified materials are approved by the IQAC for incorporation into the work of projects within the rights-of-way/jurisdictions of current IQAC members. Project testing and inspection requirements, as provided in the Regional Transportation Commission's-Uniform Standard Specifications, will still apply.

Material Qualification Procedure
The basic steps to have a material qualified are outlined below:

• Sampling and testing by an approved consultant and IQAC representative,
• Submittal of test results to the responsible IQAC member,
• Approval through the responsible IQAC member and the IQAC committee,
• Placement of the Material on the Qualified List, if applicable.

Once qualified, a material is allowed for use within the jurisdictions of all participating members.
