“Home for the Holidays” Amnesty Gives Parents Chance to Catch Up On Child Support
Next week the Clark County District Attorney’s Office Child Support Division is offering a limited amnesty to parents with outstanding child support debts through its “Home for the Holidays” program.
The program is only available to non-custodial parents who have child support bench warrants and/or suspended driver’s licenses. Those parents are invited to the Child Support Division office to meet with case managers to try to negotiate a one-time payment agreement that would eliminate their warrant and/or reinstate their driver’s license.
The division’s office at 301 E. Clark Ave., Las Vegas, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov 21. The office is in downtown Las Vegas across 3rd Street from the Regional Justice Center. Metered parking is available.
“The Home for the Holidays amnesty program gives non-custodial parents an opportunity to resolve their issues and then spend the holidays with their family rather than risk incarceration,” Clark County District Attorney David Roger said. “The program also secures payments on cases where there would normally be none bringing in much needed support for their children for the upcoming holiday season.”
Participating non-custodial parents must bring with them proper identification, proof of current income, and money (cash, money order or a cashier’s check will be accepted). For more information contact the Child Support Division Office at (702) 671-9200.
