Shakespeare said, Whats in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Well, at Clark County Parks and Recreation, the name means a lot. Several years ago the Department combined functions with other County programs and for four years was called Clark County Parks and Community Services.

Two years ago, County managers decided that Parks and Recreation should focus on what it does best, which is to deliver high quality recreational and cultural programs, and outstanding parks and facilities, to the residents of Clark County. And to get that message across, the old name was restored.
Although the name was changed almost 24 months ago, the process of changing signs, letterhead, logos on vehicles, even staff shirts has been ongoing. Its now almost complete, and the staff of Clark Countys Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to call itself by its new old name. |
