Public Art In the Paradise Park Neighborhood
Sponsored by The Friends of Paradise Park Clark County Parks and Recreation Goldwell Open Air Museum
Artists are invited to submit their qualifications to paint utility boxes around the Paradise Park neighborhood between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Boulevard, McLeod and Harrison Drives. The project is sponsored by the Friends of Paradise Park, Clark County Parks and Recreation and Goldwell Open Air Museum. The project is made possible by the co-sponsorship of the Las Vegas Valley Water District and Clark County Public Works Funding assistance is provided by the Nevada Arts Council and a Clark County Neighborhood Small Project Grant.
Artist will paint one or a group of utility boxes in or around Paradise Park between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Boulevard. The project is a sequel to Zap, the 2005 project in the Winchester neighborhood. Artists will be asked to express a preference for a particular site or sites, but the selection jury will make final site assignments.
This project is open only to artists over the age of 18 who reside in Clark County. Artists selected must be available to attend an open community meeting at Paradise Recreation Center, 4775 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, June 4, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
