Clark County Park Police strive to ensure the public's safety. Officers patrol over 110 parks/ facilities  to provide a safe place for recreational and leisure activities for all visitors. Park Police can be found working at all locations and special events to enhance the security and well being of the public. Officers patrol on foot, on bikes and in official Police vehicles.

If you observe a dangerous situation, see a piece of equipment that may be damaged or vandalized, a suspicious person, or another issue of concern, contact the Park Police at 455-7532.

Officers not only provide security to citizens, they meet and greet the public through face-to-face interactions and interventions to establish a rapport. Each year, the Park Police assist with community service projects including speaking to students for career days, bike maintenance clinics and programs related to a variety of safety issues.

Park Police Bike Patrol

Park Police Bike Patrol

Clark County's Park Police Bike Patrol was started as an effort to get officers out of their vehicles and closer to the citizens. Bike officers have become standard sightings at our parks and events. They have closer interactions with visitors in the parks, patrol special events, and manage traffic enforcement at larger parks.

Creating and maintaining an effective police bike patrol takes more than just officers and bikes. A police bike program involves not only providing officers with the proper bike and training for varying conditions of activity, traffic, and weather, but also providing bike racks on vehicles, special lighting equipment for night patrol, learning repairs and routine maintenance, and purchasing colored uniforms for safety. There are also the issues of contact with suspects, interview techniques, crowd control, using the bike as a shield or barrier and quick response to crimes in progress.

But not all of these duties are suspect oriented — they are also people oriented. The bikes are detailed with logos and the
officer's name. Kids especially like to get up close and personal and build a rapport with the officers, learning about their jobs, how to be safe yet still have fun.
