After 24 years of citizen efforts, construction of the Clark County Shooting Park is now open. The Public Module is designed to meet the needs of the citizens of Clark County in providing safe and affordable recreational shooting. On the left side of this page, posted links to various informational items are displayed. On the shooting park master plan, the green areas highlight the Public Module which has been constructed and ready for operation. (Click here to view Master Plan)

Invited guests listen to keynote speaker US Senator Reid at ground breaking ceremony October 21, 2006The shooting park site is located on 2,900 acres. Development of the actual shooting areas, however, is much smaller. A larger area was planned to provide a buffer around the shooting areas and provide increased safety. The Public Module presently encompasses 178 acres, and the entire build out will utilize approximately 900 acres. The rest of the 2,000 acres is being managed as a desert natural area and is protected from the off road vehicle damage, random shooting, and criminal activities that previously occurred on the property. This modern shooting park has been designed to protect the environment while providing safe shooting opportunities for the public and complies with all federal, state, and local codes and ordinances. It is estimated that 47% of the households in Clark County own a firearm. When completed this will be the only public shooting range in southern Nevada.

Invited guests listen to keynote speaker US Senator Reid at ground breaking ceremony October 21, 2006The Clark County Shooting Park is a member of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the National Association of Shooting Ranges (a division of NSSF), the National Rifle Association (club member) and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. The National Association of Shooting Ranges is a professional association of shooting ranges. This organization is the leader in shooting range management and operations, and has established a "five star" program for recreational shooting ranges. The Clark County Shooting Park is designed to meet and exceed the "five star" level of service. As such, we are proud to endorse the following "Statement of Principles" for the Environment Management of Shooting Ranges.
