Nestled near historic downtown Las Vegas, with its architecture inspired from the desert instead of the area's gaming influence, the Clark County Government Center is one of Southern Nevadas most striking. The design reflects Nevadas historical ecology, with images of ancient petroglyphs imbedded in the interior and exterior walls pay homage to its cultural heritage. The award-winning architecture of the Government Center is a reflection of its unique yet functional design.
The forms and materials of the building blend seamlessly to tie it to the local environment, particularly Red Rock canyon, the Valley of Fire, and other natural sandstone formations symbolic of Clark County. The terracotta sandstone exterior was built exclusively using indigenous Nevada rock.
The Amphitheater is conveniently located off two main freeways and can be host to your next festival or community event. Under the gaze of Cannon Rock and the prickly pear facade, the outdoor Amphitheater is operated by the Clark County Department of Parks and Recreation. It is home to some of the Valley's best live performances, including the annual free Jazz in the Park series, fall Moonlight Concerts, the Reggae in the Desert Music and Cultural Festival. The Amphitheater is also available for rental by groups and businesses for events such as cultural festivals, theatrical performances, and other community based functions.
Two large parking areas next to the area can easily accommodate 1300 vehicles for event guests. A circular load in driveway for vendors is adjacent to the gently sloping grass area tiered by ADA accessible concrete walkways with security lighting. Lawn seating for 2500 - 3000 on three levels surround a 50 concrete stage. Two comfortable sitting rooms are located behind the stage for performers and staff. The top level is a covered concrete area that can accommodate approximately 20 vendors and provides standard electrical outlets throughout.
