Winchester Cultural Center brings back the successful pairing of food and music with the World Cuisine cooking demonstrations and the World Vibration concert series. On October 19, the events will feature fare and tunes of a Cajun favor familiar to Louisiana at the center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. A cooking demonstration with Chef Aleta Anderson will begin the Cajun food workshop at noon followed a Zydeco-Blues concert with the Pete Contino Band at 2 p.m. Concert audience members who arrive by 1:30 p.m., and are interested in enjoying the culinary creations, can do so for $10 while the cuisine lasts.
Chef Aleta will be conducting a cooking demonstration of Cajun Creole delights. The menu includes: a blend of iced tea and lemonade, mixed salad greens with Chef Emeril's herb vinaigrette, chicken and smoked sausage gumbo, steamed long grain white rice, garlic bread, and chocolate bread pudding with spiced cream.
The series and the demonstrations continue November 16 with Mongolian fare and music from world renowned Huun-Huur-Tu, Tuvan Throat Singers. Those interested can call 455-7340 and register at Winchester Cultural Center 3130 S. McLeod Drive just north of Desert Inn.
