Class Act is a non-profit organization, founded in 1988 by the Junior League, Allied Arts Council and Clark County School District, which works in partnership with Clark County Parks and Recreation to bring professional music, dance and theater performances to elementary and middle schools, with the goal of increasing students understanding of and appreciation for the performing arts.
The artists listed on the Class Act roster have all auditioned before a panel of judges to ensure the quality, appropriateness and educational value of their work. Participating schools receive pre-and post-performance supplemental curriculum materials, especially developed to enhance the cultural arts curriculum of the Clark County School District.
Through generous donations from corporations, governmental entities, businesses, organizations and individuals, the cost of providing these experiences has remained affordable to schools.
Schools may select performances from the Class Act roster. Performance fees, for which the schools are responsible, are noted by each artist description. All arrangements for the performances are handled by Clark County Park & Recreation. Call 455-7001 for more information.
