Pomegranate Art Festival
November 6 & 7
Clark County Fairgrounds
9AM - 4PM
Moapa Valley celebrates fall with the Pomegranate Art Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 1301 Whipple St. in Logandale, located 60 miles north of Las Vegas. Admission to the festival is free.
Found throughout the southwest and abundantly in the Moapa Valley, the light pink to dark red pomegranate can be found in sweet or bitter varieties and is used in cooking, crafting and as part of healthy lifestyles as an herbal supplement. The festival celebrates the taste and visual appeal of the fruit. Local artists, and performing groups will join live demonstrations of various craft and culinary techniques and recipes using pomegranates. For the kids, the Art Attack area provides hands-on arts and crafts projects to take home.
Those interested can call the Logandale office at 398-7480. Clark County Parks and Recreation also can be found on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook by visiting http://tinyurl.com/l87c4l.
