The Winchester Players Presents The Family Claus
December 11 and 12
Winchester Cultural Center

“The Family Claus,” an original holiday musical by the Winchester Players, premieres at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, December 11 and 12 at Clark County’s Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

Elves, leprechauns, Santa Claus, Mrs. Santa, Santa’s parents, Frosty the Snowman, Peter Pan, Wendy, angels, Mother Nature, the Grinch, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, munchkins, the Lollipop Kids, the Christmas Spirit and many others are portrayed by a cast of 65-plus, mostly student members of the Winchester Players, as well as six parents.
The all-singing, all-dancing comedy drama, written, choreographed and directed by Susan Swanson and Christopher Swanson, revolves around the disappearance of Santa’s father and Comet the reindeer just before Christmas Eve. If the whole family is not united for Christmas Eve, Santa would not be able to take off to deliver toys to the children of the world, so as the Christmas Spirit sets out to find the missing, Christmas hangs in the balance.

The musical numbers are traditional Christmas favorites from “Jingle Bells” to the heart-rending “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.”

Admission is $5, $3 for children. Winchester Players shows tend to sell out, so buying tickets early is advised. Tickets are available online at www.accessclarkcounty.com or at Winchester Center. For more information, please call 455-7340.
