Southern Nevada Musical Arts Chorus
Sunday, November 8
Winchester Cultural Center

“Folk Songs, Shanties, Spirituals and Broadway Melodies,” featuring the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Singers, will grace Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009. The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Singers is a group of local semi-professional singers within the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society. The Singers will perform a variety of musical genres, under the direction of Dr. Douglas Peterson.

Dr. Peterson is celebrating his forty-first season as Musical Director of the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, which presents choral and orchestra masterworks, musical productions, and chamber concerts consistent with a strong community and educational outreach in Southern Nevada (SNMAS.com).
In this “concert for everyone,” Dr. Peterson will lead The Musical Arts Singers through interpretations of such songs as “Let Me Entertain You,” “What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor,” and the Spanish language, “Las Agachadas.” The concert will also feature tenor soloist Robert Peterson. The society is a favorite of local critics. Carolyn Wardle, of the Las Vegas Review Journal, called the society’s show, Gershwin, “a wonderfully entertaining evening” and praised the group for its “skill and clarity."

Winchester Cultural Center is located at 3130 S. McLeod Drive. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call (702) 455-7340
