Summer Movie Series Offers Family Favorites Aug. 29 All films are shown at Walnut Park, 3075 N. Walnut Road, 455-8402 Movies begin at dusk. This is a free event
Families can chill out this summer with a movie series in the park for families and movie-govers of all ages. The first Walnut Summer Movie Series began on June 20 with “Bee Movie” and continues July 25 with “The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep.” “Ratatouille” will wrap up the series on Aug. 22. Blankets and low-back chairs are welcome during the series. The Walnut Recreation Center’s Leaders of the Future teen program will sell snacks and refreshments on site.
On Friday, Aug. 29, the animated feature Ratatouille takes the series to the kitchen for the final film. The story of this French chef, who happens to be a rat, was directed by Brad Bird, who also helmed “The Incredibles” and “The Iron Giant.” “Ratatouille” won the Oscar earlier this year for Best Animated Feature and also was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
