The Clark County Museum presents a Roundtable Discussion, How Time Flies: A Look Back at Sixty Years of McCarran Airport History. Roundtable will be held outdoors at the Donald W. Reynolds Print Shop on the Heritage Street of historic homes.
Scheduled to appear on the Roundtable Panel:
Hannah Brown was the first woman and first black supervisor for Western Airlines.
Later, when Delta Air Lines acquired Western, she became the first black regional manager in Delta’s Airport Customer Service Division. Brown served 35 years in the aviation industry.
Carey Burke worked with Las Vegas based Bonanza Airlines and its successors for 36 years. After starting on the ramp loading water, ice, and bags onto DC-3’s, he worked his way up to senior ticketing agent for the first all jet-powered airline in the United States. Burke offers a working man’s perspective on airport operations.
Peggy Crockett along with husband George Crockett, founded, owned and operated Alamo Airways from 1941 to 1968 at Alamo Field, now McCarran International Airport. Alamo Airways provided for the needs of commercial, private and general aviation aircraft and pilots at the airport until 1967.
