Sewer Pipeline Rehabilitation Work Scheduled to Take Place Near UNLV

The Clark County Water Reclamation District (District) has scheduled sewer pipeline rehabilitation work with new lane closures near UNLV.

“Crews will begin working near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway and will move north during the next three weeks,” said Sam Scire, assistant general manager of the District. “During that time, drivers should be aware that the lane closures will be mobile, that is moving along with the work. We highly recommend that people allow extra time and exercise caution when driving through the impacted areas, especially UNLV students.”

Expect the following 24-hour traffic impacts near UNLV:

  • Beginning March 3 through at least March 28, expect two northbound lanes of Maryland Parkway to be closed from Tropicana Avenue to Harmon Avenue.

  • Beginning March 3 through at least March 28, expect the center turn lane and one westbound lane of Harmon Avenue to be closed near the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Maryland Parkway.

  • Beginning March 3 through at least March 28, expect the eastbound turn lane of Tropicana Avenue onto Maryland Parkway to be closed. Drivers will still be able to turn right onto Tropicana Avenue from Maryland Parkway.

While work is taking place, drivers should take precautions and allow extra time when traveling through the impacted areas. For more information and traffic updates, drivers an call the project hotline at 853-1333, or visit www.cleanwaterteam.comm.
