Temporary (Extended) Road Closure of Far Hills Avenue

Construction and project management officials have scheduled a temporary but extended closure for Far Hills Avenue between Sageberry Drive and Carriage Hill Drive.  Basically, this closure will impact the section of Far Hills Avenue, which crosses the Clark County 215 on the valley’s west side.

This temporary but extended closure started July 16.  Once closed, this section of Far Hills Avenue will be closed for approximately eight months.

This temporary but extended closure is necessary to accommodate construction personnel, who are working to construct the 215’s new interchange with Far Hills Avenue.

This new single-point urban interchange is just one of the primary features of this $56.9 million-dollar 215 improvement project.  Other major improvements associated with this project include the 215’s new mainline travel lanes (three in each direction) between Charleston Boulevard and Summerlin Parkway as well as the new 215 interchange at Summerlin Parkway.

While this work is being done, motorists, who normally use this section of Far Hills Avenue, will have to use an alternate route to access this area of the Las Vegas Valley.  Alternate routes for this area of the valley could include Alta Drive or Charleston Boulevard.

During this time frame, motorists are also encouraged to allow themselves extra travel time to get to and from their specific designations.  This section of Far Hills will be reopened as quickly as possible once the necessary work is finished.
