In an effort to reach out to the community and inform residents of the services available in their community, Clark County Recorder Debbie Conway is hosting an open house 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 7, at her department’s northwest area branch office.
The Tenaya branch office, one of two branches that opened this spring, is at 3211 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 118, Las Vegas. The office is in the Dona Maria Plaza near the intersection of Tenaya and Cheyenne Avenue just west of U.S. 95
“It is important to find ways to make government more accessible for the public,” Conway said. “The Tenaya branch and our new office in Henderson bring our services closer to residents, making it easier to file or get copies of the official documents we keep at the Recorder’s Office.”
The Henderson branch is in the Stephanie Promenade at 245 Stephanie St. Suite B, which is near the intersection of Stephanie Street and American Pacific Drive. Both branch offices share space with the County Assessor’s Office. Both offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The offices close from noon to 12:30 p.m. daily for lunch.
During the open house at the Tenaya branch on Thursday, staff will give demonstrations of the services that are available at the office. There will also be a ceremonial ribbon cutting with refreshments.
At the Recorder’s Office branch offices residents can record up to five documents per customer (no maps); research records or obtain certified copies of documents recorded from April 2004 to present; research marriage records from 1909 to present; and obtain certified copies of marriage certificates recorded from 1984 to present. (Records research sessions are limited to 15 minutes per customer if other customers are waiting.) For more information call the Recorder’s Office at 455-4336 or visit the Recorder’s Office Web site at www.accessclarkcounty.com/recorder.
All of the Assessor’s Office services available at the main downtown office are also available at the branch offices.
Having both the Assessor’s and Recorder’s staffs together in the branch offices also means residents can complete some filings that involve both offices. For example, obtaining and recording Homestead forms and applying for veterans’ exemptions and recording military discharge papers.
