Sunrise Recreation Center Hosts Free Camp Dec. 24 Jan. 4

Winter break from school can be just as difficult to fill with activities as summer vacation and spring break. Teens ages 13 to 17 can fill their time with the Winter Teen Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24 Jan. 4, excluding Dec. 25 and Jan.1, at Sunrise Recreation Center, 2240 Linn Lane in northeast Las Vegas. The free camp is now currently accepting registrations.

Participants can expect holiday celebrations during the Winter Teen Camp along with sports activities, arts and crafts, video games, a Noon Years Eve party and a trip to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. A small fee may be charged for the theme park.

Participants provide their own lunches and snacks, but the staff at Sunrise Recreation Center provides the fun.

This is a great way for teens to celebrate the holidays, stay active during their winter break from school and stay off the streets and out of trouble, said Russell P. Thompson, recreation and cultural specialist. Sunrise Recreation Center is happy to provide this free camp to the teens.

Those interested in the Winter Teen Camp can call Sunrise Recreation Center at 455-7600 or visit the Web site at www.accessclarkcounty.com/parks.
