VISITATION
PARENTS AND LEGAL GUARDIANS THAT ARE SPECIFIED ON THE BOOKING SHEET ARE THE ONLY PERSONS ALLOWED TO VISIT YOUTH IN THE DETENTION FACILITY

First Visit: Parent(s)/guardian(s) may visit their child after the first court hearing. The visit must take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

All visitors must dress appropriately; no tank tops, halter or crop tops, and no short shorts.

Visitors obviously intoxicated or under the influence of drugs/alcohol will be denied visiting.

Non-visitors must wait outside the building. No children are allowed in the building.

Youths Committed to Other Facilities: Parent(s)/guardian(s) may visit the day before a youth is to leave for another institution.

Attorneys are allowed to visit.

Clergy are allowed to visit, but advanced appointments are requested.

Parents are NOT permitted to bring in food, gum, candy, tobacco, toothpaste, deodorants, non-prescription soap, etc.
EXCEPTIONS: Youth are allowed contact eye care products and tennis shoes on Detention approval. These items will be accepted through the Detention Administration office.
Clothing required for youth committed to the Caliente Youth Center (CYC) will be accepted in the Unit one day prior to transportation to the facility. Youth are permitted one small suitcase. Clothing for youth committed to Spring Mountain Youth Camp (SMYC) will be taken to the Camp upon parent's first visit. No clothing will be accepted in Detention for youth going to SMYC. Youth committed to Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC) or Summit View Correctional Center will be provided uniforms when they arrive. No clothing will be accepted in Detention for youth going to NYTC or Summit View.
**THERE ARE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS IN DETENTION**
Regular Visiting Schedule:
E-1 and E-2 Parents/guardians will visit on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
E-3 and E-4 Parents/guardians will visit on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
E-5 and E-6 Parents/guardians will visit on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
E-7 Parents/guardians will visit on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
E-8 Parents/guardians will visit on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Zenoff Hall Parents/guardians will visit on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
PHONE CALLS Detention staff are not to accept incoming phone calls for Detainees from nonprofessional or outside parties.
Detainees are permitted to phone their parent(s)/legal guardian(s)/attorneys at designated times determined by Detention policies. No phone contact with brothers, sisters, or friends will be allowed.
MAIL All mail (letters, birthday cards, etc.) must come through the U.S. Postal System. No passing of notes, letters or cards, in or out of the facility, is allowed. Two outgoing letters per week are allowed.
MEDICAL All medication must be approved through the Nursing Office. All medical supplies must be approved by the medical staff.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE All Detainees are provided with essential needs and given privileges based on behavior. Quality food, shelter, clothing and medical care are readily available, along with educational and recreational programs. Parents are NOT allowed to bring in food, gum, candy, tobacco, toothpaste, deodorants, non-prescription soaps, etc. Parents who violate visiting and/or telephone rules will lose visiting and/or telephone privileges.
