Citation Information

If you choose to pay without appearing, you must do so on or before the appearance date on your citation.   You may pay by personal check, cashiers check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, Western Union or cash if paid in person.   Please make all check/money orders payable to Moapa Justice Court and put the citation number on the check/money order.

If you choose to appear, the fine imposed in court will be due at that time.   The amount you are ordered to pay will include your fine plus an administrative fee, facility fee and specialty court fee.

You may plead guilty, nolo contendre, or not guilty when you appear.  

v Guilty (with or without explanation):   You will be sentenced same day

v    Nolo Contendre: Not an admission of guilt, but the court finds you guilty and you are sentenced same    day

  v      Not Guilty:   A trial date will be set for you to return.

At your traffic trial, the State will call the witness(es), including the citing Trooper/Officer, against you and provide any evidence to present their case.   You will be able to ask the witness(es) direct questions.   You will then call your witness(es) and provide any evidence you have.   The State will make a closing argument and you may make a statement at that time, either sworn or unsworn.   The judge will then rule on the case.
