What departments are covered?
UMC, Social Services, Family and Youth Services, Juvenile Justice Services, Risk Management, Employee Assistance Program, Information Technology, Audit, Treasurer, Accounts Payable, and the Assistant County Manager's Office are included in the County's hybrid entity.
Why are some departments that collect health information not included?
In order to be a part of the covered entity, a department has to be a health plan, a provider that conducts one of the HIPAA standard electronic transactions (such as eligibility or billing), or provide administrative services to a covered department.
