Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of The Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990
NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATION
General Remarks:
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act prohibit discriminating against qualified individuals with disabilities in providing access to public services and facilities.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act states in relevant part that “no qualified individual with a disability…shall be excluded from, denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity that … receives Federal financial assistance.”
Clark County Government (County) is a recipient of federal funding for some of its programs and services and therefore must ensure compliance with Section 504. Accordingly, the County is required to provide: reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities; accessibility to its programs and services for individuals with disabilities; effective communication with people who are hearing or vision disabilities; access to and in the use of its facilities [new construction and through necessary alterations to its facilities).
Title II of The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits “discrimination against people with disabilities in all aspects of life, including transportation, public services, employment housing, public accommodations, education, communications, worship, recreation, and health services.” The County is to ensure that there are no barriers to individuals with disabilities related to the County’s programs, services, facilities, transportation, etc.

Clark County Government (County) does not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission to its programs, services, or activities, in access to them, in treatment of individuals with disabilities, or in any aspect of County operations. The County also does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices.
This notice is required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
