Holidays: Employees receive 12 paid holidays per year.
Health/Dental/Vision Insurance: Employees are given the choice of two different health plans: Self-Funded and Health Plan of Nevada, to select the one that fits their needs the best.
Retirement: Full retirement contributions are made by the County on the behalf of the employee to the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). An employee is vested in PERS after five years of full-time employment with the County and/or other entities participating in PERS. Benefits at retirement are calculated on the employee’s highest consecutive thirty-six months of pay.
Section 125/Cafeteria Plan: All employees have the option of pre-tax payroll deductions for some insurance premiums, unreimbursed medical expenses and child/dependent care expenses.
Sick Leave: Sick leave accrues at 3.70 hours for each pay period (two weeks). Employees who use forty hours or less of sick leave during the year will also be granted 24 hours of bonus leave.
Vacation Leave: Annual leave or vacation leave accrues at 3.08 hours for each pay period during the first 24 months of full-time employment. Vacation leave accrues at 4.62 hours per pay period for 25-96 months of employment; 5.54 hours per pay period for 97-180 months of employment; and 6.15 hours per pay period for employees with 181 months or more of full-time employment.
