The Clark County District Attorney’s Office employs law clerks in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions.  Law Clerks for the Criminal Division are full-time employees assigned to the Appellate Division and are responsible for drafting responses to appellate briefs and oppositions to post-conviction writs of habeas corpus and various other post-conviction motions.  These positions are one-year term positions from August 1 to July 31 of the following year with an annual salary in excess of $53,000.00 and full benefits.  Candidates are generally interviewed and hired in the late Fall/early Winter for the following year.

Law Clerks working in the Appellate Division who demonstrate  good writing and advocacy skills are encouraged to apply for Associate Attorney positions.  Although the positions are one-year term positions, a Law Clerk may be offered a position as an Associate Attorney at any time after becoming a member of the Nevada State Bar.  Those Law Clerk positions vacated prior to the end of the one-year term will be filled by candidates to finish the term.
