Tropicana/Flamingo Washes Trail
Trails will ultimately connect the Tropicana, Flamingo, Blue Diamond, and Red Rock detention basins with recreation facilities and trailheads planned for one or more of the basins. These facilities will provide a regional backbone system of trails in the southwest area and will offer unique recreational opportunities for a variety of users. The first part of this trail project will extend from Durango west through the old Blue Diamond Wash to the Blue Diamond Detention Basin. An equestrian trail in this segment should provide horse enthusiasts in this area with an enjoyable riding experience. Design is being finalized and construction should be completed mid-2008.

PLANNING PROJECTS
Las Vegas Valley Comprehensive Trails Map
On April 3, 2007, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Las Vegas Valley Trails Map as an amendment to the Clark County Trails Element. The map illustrates about 120 miles of trails that are planned throughout the Valley in un-incorporated Clark County. Approximately 36 miles are under design and construction or already exist. Trail extensions and connections to surrounding federal and local jurisdictions are also reflected to demonstrate continuity and enhance inter-jurisdictional trail planning efforts. The map will periodically be updated to include future trails as they are identified and funded.
