SOLID WASTE

The Environmental Planning Division continues to monitor solid waste collection,  disposal and storage as well as recycling, composting, and reclamation programs.

OPEN SPACE PLANNING

The Environmental Planning Division works with the Department of Comprehensive Planning to evaluate and recommend actions that promote environmentally smart development.  These recommendations help improve air quality, water conservation, and environmental protection.   Native landscaping, aesthetic uniformity and preservation of open space are also addressed through planning efforts.

INTERAGENCY COLLABORATION

The Environmental Planning Division regularly participates in meetings, events, and efforts with other entities to improve the consistency of environmental planning and enforcement.   Regional and inter-jurisdictional participation supports information sharing, efficient services, customer service and environmental compliance.
