Plans & Studies
The Air Quality Planning Division is made up of three sections. The Planning Section prepares studies and plans showing how Clark County will comply with national air quality standards. The section performs technical analyses, researches air quality issues, and develops strategies to attain federal standards. The Emissions Inventory and Modeling Section compiles estimates of air pollutant emissions from all sources. The section uses computer models to simulate dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere and identify pollutant sources that must be controlled. The Mobile Sources Section develops and implements programs to reduce emissions from mobile sources. These include cars, trucks, buses, construction equipment, RVs, off-road vehicles, and lawn or garden equipment.
