Example Letter

The Honorable Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign,

Please accept this letter as support of the County's proposal requesting that the United States Congress covey the lands known as “Nellis Dunes” located in Las Vegas, Nevada.   

Clark County’s proposal to further manage Nellis Dunes to include venues such as: organized outdoor motorcycle tracks, ATV & BMX facilities, and off-road racing areas will improve the quality and safety of off highway vehicle (OHV) recreation in Southern Nevada.  The County proposal also calls for the restoration of the Nellis Dunes, the continuation of unrestrictive riding, while at the same time establishing a number of well marked trails for novice riders and families. 

As a community of off-road recreation enthusiast, we feel that Southern Nevada is in need of facilities that our families can enjoy here in Las Vegas without having to travel to Utah or California.  This proposal is an opportunity to have a regional facility for our children and grandchildren to enjoy for many years to come.
