The early army outposts established during the 19th Century to control Indian activities in southern Nevada were abandoned after the failure of mining and the transportation enterprises on the Colorado River. The presently inhabited settlements in Clark County that were developed as a result of military requirements include Indian Springs. Currently, it is a support community for the U.S. Air Force Indian Springs Auxiliary Field. |
