Clark County works in collaboration with the Cities under the guidance of the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition to prepare Clark County's Annual Resident Population Estimate. Clark County prepares annual population data based on the number of housing units 2008 Housing Units by Place and 2008 Population by Zip Code/Housing Units.

Clark County's Annual Housing Vacancy Survey is conducted through an Interlocal Agreement between Clark County and the U.S. Postal Service. The survey is conducted to determine the occupancy rate for residential units as of July 1st of each year. 2008 Clark County Vacancy/Occupancy Rates by Zip Code. CLARK COUNTY POPULATION FORECASTS

Local Population Forecasting Workgroup consiting of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), Clark County Comprehensive Planning (CCCP), and the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (CBER) work together to provide Clark County's Long-term Population Forecast. Clark County's Resident Population Forecast (please refer to the rebased forecast). (CBER) also prepares the REMI Executive Summary.

Visitor projections are based on hotel room inventory, average occupancy level of hotel rooms, and the average number of occupants staying in hotel rooms on any given day. The Clark County Population Report provides a basic overview of the major aspects of Clark County's demographics. The "Policies" assist with guiding land use and policy decisions made by the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners. Together, the report and policies are referred to as the Population Element. To review Policies.

The Geographically Integrated Information System (GILIS) is a regional land use database. It is based on the Clark County Assessor's land use codes, and is modified to reflect land uses from a planning perspective. This database plays a key role in preparing the local population estimates and with land use analysis. GILIS Definitions.
